VorTek VorCone meter measures the fluid density as well as the mass flow. VorCone meters were installed on a oil truck’s loading and unloading line (see Figures 1 and 2). As the oil is of varying grade / density it was important to be able to meter the mass flow and fluid density. The oil truck is an extremely adverse metering environment with short meter runs, severe meter vibration during off road transit, intermittent flows, and varying fluid densities.

Table 1 shows the facility volume reference vs. the meters loading & unloading totalized values. The volume difference between the facility references and the loading and unloading meters are -0.19% and -0.09% respectively. No zeroing / re-calibration was required in the field.
